The First-Generation Becoming an Earth & Environmental Scientist program (First-Gen BEES) is a multi-day workshop (virtual in 2021; in-person afterward) designed to teach some of the unwritten rules about college, graduate school, and becoming an Earth and Environmental Scientist.
First-Gen BEES was developed and produced by Drs. Patrick Rafter and Katherine Mackey.
In a post-Covid world, First-Gen BEES will be a 3-day on campus workshop to familiarize high school students with life on campus in addition to conversations / Q&As with current undergraduate and Earth Science graduate students, laboratory tours, and more.
