Here are some related questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What is the population of the United States?  (This will give us an upper limit to the answer.)<\/li><li>Roughly what fraction of Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo?  Can you guess? Can you give a range for what this number could be?   For instance, what could be a <strong>maximum<\/strong> number of cards sold?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s build some relations and break up the problem into smaller pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Number of Mothers in the United State<strong>s:<\/strong> What fraction of US population is female?  What fraction of all US women are mothers?<\/li><li>Fraction of mothers receiving a Mother&#8217;s Day Card<\/li><li>Average number of cards a mother will receive<\/li><li>Fraction of cards that are purchased (instead of self-made).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make you best guesses.
