Coding Challenge

You are on a secret mission and need to communicate with your boss secretly. Create your own secret code! Try to make it so that code-breakers who may be tracking you will have a very hard time breaking your code.

Submission (before Monday, 4/20/2020): Submit a favorite phrase of yours written in your own code. The phrase can be a line from a song or a poem and should have at least five words. Include a paragraph explaining your code which will allow your boss to decipher your secret phrase.

See Examples: Coding Albert Einstein’s famous quote: (Click on the phrase and download the Google Sheet.)

“Do not worry about your difficulties in mathematics. I can assure you mine are still greater.” – Albert Einstein

Prizes: The best submissions will earn a prize and will be posted on the Meeting 1 webpage. All submissions will earn credits for a raffle during the last meeting of this spring.

How to submit:

Math CEO middle school students should submit to your school’s Math CEO coordinating teacher via Google Classroom or other means.

UCI mentors can email submissions to mathceo@uci.edu.
