Mathematical Finance is designed for students with a strong interest in mathematics who would like to use their mathematical background to obtain a solid foundation in the fundamentals of modern financial mathematics. This program will prepare students for a variety of options after graduation, including direct employment in the business world, entry into an MBA program, or advanced graduate education in either economics or in mathematics.  Further information on this can be found here:

Admission to this concentration requires approval in advance by the Mathematics Department. The admissions process begins with completing this online form sometime between April 1 and April 30 or November 1 and November 30:

The application should be completed sometime between April 1 and April 30 or November 1 and November 30 of the sophomore or junior year. After completion, the application will be reviewed and the student will be contacted by the faculty advisor for the concentration to arrange a time for a brief interview.  Upon completion of the interview, the application process is complete.
