Bill Anderson Fund (BAF) is a non-profit organization focused on mitigating disasters through fellowship, mentorship, and research for minority communities. The Bill Anderson Fund workshop was a convening of natural disaster scholars at UC Irvine from November 3-4, 2023. During this workshop, scholars shared intersecting approaches to various issues in hazards and natural disaster studies. 

This workshop was co-sponsored by CLIMATE Justice Initiative, UCI’s Office of Inclusive Excellence, the UCI Newkirk Center for Science and Society, the UCI School of Physical Sciences, the UCI School of Social Ecology, the UCI School of Education, the Henry Samueli School of Engineering, the Ralph J. and Carol M. Cicerone Professor of Earth System Science (Prof. Jim Randerson), and the UCLA Center for Diverse Leadership in Science.
