Postbac fellows are hired as full-time employees (Junior Specialists, Step 1). Postbac fellows are expected to:
- Attend the orientation meeting in the fall
- Complete the 1-day Field Safety 201 Workshop in the fall
- Complete the Communication Skills for Environmental Scholars course (ECO EVO 231) in the fall
- Complete the Climate Justice Research (ANTHRO 289) course in the winter
- Attend the CLIMATE Justice practicum (EARTHSS 280; including Research Justice Shop workshops) during the fall, winter, and spring quarters
- Collaborate on a CbR team-science project (approximately 5-10 hours per week)
- Organize and attend quarterly meetings with community partners
- Present at the annual CLIMATE Justice Symposium
- Complete the 1-week Environmental Justice Field Course over the summer (tentative)
- Attend (~monthly) professional development workshops, seminars, and field trips
- Conduct research in assigned laboratory (approximately 20 hours per week)
During their first year, PhD fellows are anticipated to work 10 hours per week. PhD fellows are expected to:
- Attend the orientation meeting in the fall
- Complete the 1-day Field Safety 201 Workshop in the fall
- Complete the Communication Skills for Environmental Scholars course (ECO EVO 231) in the fall
- Complete the Climate Justice Research course (ANTHRO 289) in the winter
- Attend the CLIMATE Justice practicum (EARTHSS 280), including Research Justice Shop workshops, during the fall, winter, and spring quarters

PhD fellows are expected to continue the program for a second year (unless graduating). Second-year PhD fellows are expected to:
- Attend the orientation meeting in the fall
- Attend the CLIMATE Justice Learning Community seminars during the fall, winter, and spring (monthly)
- Optional: Continue or expand on your existing CbR project, or co-design a new project
- Optional: Serve as a mentor to incoming postbac or PhD fellows
